His Highness Sheikh Mohamed has inaugurated the World Tallest Tower today 4Jan2010 evening. He has name the Burj Dubai as Burj Khalifa. There was dazzling fireworks and Musical fountain specially choreographed for the event. It has broken many world records with its 828 Meters Height.

Etisalat's Blackberry Update is Surveillance Application - RIM (Research in Motion)

Thirteen days after etisalat issued a patch (July 8th) that was designed to "enhance performance", Research in Motion (RIM), BlackBerry's parent company has said on Tuesday "etisalat appears to have distributed a telecommunications surveillance application" designed and developed by California-based company SS8.

 

The BlackBerry 'snifferware', which can intercept emails and drain battery life quickly, was pushed as an update to 145,000 BlackBerry users on the etisalat network. Over 300 of them immediately complained their smartphone had been rendered useless with the battery dying out on them in less than 60 minutes. Also The Java file could intercept data and send a copy to a server without the user's knowledge.

 

In an eight page "customer update", the Canada based company rejected etisalat's assertion that the update was intended to enhance performance on the BlackBerry network.
